General Hospital Star Coby Ryan McLaughlin’s Break Is Over

Few General Hospital characters have garnered as much hatred from Port Charles citizens as cult figure Shiloh, who manipulated so many in Port Charles — including the younger set. He met his end in a strange way as Sam shot him with a flare gun, sending him over the edge of The Haunted Star. Now his portrayer, Coby Ryan McLaughlin, has made quite a re-entrance — into social media.

With a very stylistic black and white photo, sporting a collar that has broken its bondage, as well as a sheriff’s badge, the actor made his comeback with the following announcement, “I’m back, bitches 🤘😘😳 #instastaycation.”

Is he signaling a return to General Hospital? While fans would love to see him return and stir up trouble as only David Henry Archer can do, that’s not really what’s going on here. After all, Shiloh’s body was recovered, identified, and who knows what happened next? But in Port Charles, that usually means you’re most sincerely dead.

In this case, the actor had seen The Social Dilemma and like so many others, was completely disgusted with what was revealed about social media by those who created some of our favorite items, including the “like” button on Facebook. In his previous Instagram post before his return, the actor had written, “Adios for a bit, peeps! Be good humans while I’m gone 🤘❤️👊 #takeabreak”

Like the mob was to Michael Corleone, social media has obviously pulled McLaughlin back in — and we’re all the better for it. After all, how else could his fans keep up on his post-GH projects? Since leaving, the actor guested on an episode of Hawaii Five-0 as Luke and also appeared in the made-for-TV movie Nanny Danger.
