Wasn’t it just a few days ago when Elena and Devon had a romantic picnic and retired back to their penthouse for an actual soap opera love scene during COVID (as actors Bryton James and Brytni Sarpy are together in real life). All seemed well, but of course, Elena still had Amanda and Hilary on the mind.
As she does today when she’s working at the clinic with Nate (Sean Dominic) and their teen friend Jared (Michael MacLane) ends up there after a drug overdose. For some reason, Nate and Elena don surgical masks to try to bring him to (and it looked normal because that’s how everyone looks in 2020), and thankfully, shaking his legs seems to do the trick.

The pair are relieved their friend is okay as he tells them how terrible things have been since his grandfather died months ago. Elena and Nate feel their hearts breaking for the boy, but when they are alone, Elena begins reflecting.
She talks about Jared and how he was in emotional distress and came to the one place he feels safe. We can assume she begins thinking about how she runs to the clinic — or more specifically, Nate — whenever she is feeling emotional distress. Nate is her comfort place. He is always there for her and Elena seems to realize that.
In tears, she suddenly stands up and walks into the now-empty exam room. She then calls Nate in and gives him that look. Nate knows what the look is and walks towards her. Then, they just stare at one another, very close up, and the camera pans to shadows on the wall and they look to be falling onto the exam table — together. Oh, Elena, what have you done? And what will Devon do when he finds out? The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
