We haven’t seen him in Port Charles lately, but a handsome fan favorite who’s made some appearances on General Hospital is coming back to television just in time to celebrate Independence Day!
We’re talking about Chris Van Etten, who plays Chet Driscoll, the brother of Amy (Risa Dorken). Like his GH character, Van Etten served in the military.
Chet was last seen on GH last April. Now, his portrayer, and his service dog, Harley, are set to appear on Home and Family this week. After Van Etten retired from military service, he and Harley were reunited. (See Chris and Harley above, photo courtesy of Hallmark Channel.)
Home and Family is hosted by Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan, All My Children) and Debbie Matenopoulos (The View).
In real-life, while serving in Afghanistan, Van Etten’s battalion entered a dangerous area and on June 13, 2012, two improvised explosive devices (IED) detonated, resulting in Van Etten losing his legs.
Since returning to the states, Van Etten has worked professionally as an actor, model, and motivational speaker.
Van Etten debuted on GH in late 2017 as Chet. By coincidence, the shares the same name as GH co-head writer Chris Van Etten. Home and Family airs on the Hallmark Channel weekdays from 10 to 12 p.m. ET. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check local listings for air times.
