If you think Spinelli’s recent failure out in the field will deter him from thinking he can take down Peter August on General Hospital, well, you don’t know Spinelli. But we are sure you do.
Bradford Anderson: Having Fun
Either way, Spinelli is not about to let his recent misstep with Dolores Maloney (Andi Chapman) deter him from going up against another adversary — the man who has grown close to his ex-wife, Maxie (Kirsten Storms).
“I don’t think anything will stop his pursuit of Peter (Wes Ramsey),” Anderson recently told TV Insider. Regarding his recent scenes with Ramsey in Maxie’s apartment, the actor says, speaking in character, “It’s so much fun for me. No matter what I do, Peter retains his composure. I allow that to get to me. I love Wes. He’s one of the most generous, kind, wonderful people, but I allow myself to hate Peter so much that it’s fun…
The Spinelli Way
“Spinelli doesn’t really show outward distaste towards people,” Anderson continues. “That’s not what he does. There are very few characters that he’ll feel that way about. Most of the time, he plays nice with Peter so he doesn’t second guess him.”
Anderson recalls that Sam (Kelly Monaco) advised Spinelli to play it carefully around Peter. “Sam has told Spinelli that if Peter knows you’re onto him, he can make things worse. But Spinelli wants to stand up and protect his loved ones. He feels there’s a real danger there, but Maxie doesn’t see it.”
While Spinelli would love nothing more than to see Peter become exposed, Anderson would love to see these tension-filled scenes with Ramsey continue.
Loving General Hospital
“What I love about soaps, in general, is that you kind of go with your instincts,” Anderson observes. “And I love having this instinct when Peter and Spinelli are in scenes where Spinelli will just throw unmitigated shade at him.”
Stay tuned for the next confrontation between the two men in Maxie’s life. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check local listings for air times.
