Cyrus Renault, Laura Webber Collins’s half-brother, came to General Hospital, threw some money around, kidnapped some people, made some threatening faces… and now he’s in jail. Is his mediocre reign of terror at an end? What almost 2,000 viewers suspect.
Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) obsession with his long-lost sister, Laura (Genie Francis), was always pretty bizarre. She’s the baby his father had with his medical student, Lesley (Denise Alexander). They didn’t grow up together, she didn’t know about him, and whatever happened between Cyrus’s parents as a result of her birth is beyond not Laura’s fault.
Yet a majority 54% of the audience is convinced that Cyrus won’t let his weird issues go and, like Ahnold, he’ll be back. With Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) still missing in action, we need a bad guy to keep things interesting. And to keep Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and her delusions of mob mastery in check.
A smaller 29% of you figure prison bars will keep Cyrus from putting yet another revenge plot against Laura into effect. But he’s a connected dude, he’ll be able to hire someone to continue harassing his sister, and all of her Port Charles constituents. Laura shouldn’t make any new friends in the next couple of weeks (months?), just in case Cyrus is behind it all.
How could anyone get out of jail in Port Charles, a confused 17% of fans wonder? After all, jail is where bad guys go so they can no longer do bad things, and, once in, they’re in for good.
It’s not like Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) didn’t just spend – what? a few days – under lock and key? Or Liesl Obrecht (Nancy Lee Grahn) received an early release because she was cleared of charges? And let’s not talk about all the people who’ve gotten a pardon from the Governor. Cyrus is gone for good!
