General Hospital Resurrection: The Return of Julian Jerome

Julian Jerome was determined to change so he could be Charlie, the man he thought Kim deserved on General Hospital — but what started out as good idea ended up in complete heartbreak — and yet it was a beautiful thing to watch.

A GH Metamorphosis

Sure, watching Julian turn into a man his children didn’t mind having in their and their children’s lives seemed like a good idea at the time. Heck, even ex-wife Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) was impressed and found herself rooting for their relationship while also having a hard time moving on as she saw who he could be for someone else.

During all of this transitioning, who would have thought it would be Kim (Tamara Braun) who proved to not be good enough for her Charlie? Despite the contortions that Julian went through to feel he deserved to be loved, Kim threw it all away to relive the past with Drew, aka, Dranco (Roger Howarth).

Enough Is Enough

Lord knows that Julian gave her enough chances in the name of mourning her dead son. He forgave her almost raping Drew (Billy Miller). He forgave her kissing Dranco. He probably would have even forgiven her sleeping with Dranco but leaving him a “Dear Charlie” note to run off with him was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Needless to say, the actor and character’s fans couldn’t be happier! Enough of him being the Charlie doormat in plaid shirts. When he finally walked out on Kim, refusing to read her Dear Charlie note because that man doesn’t exist — his name is Julian, you could practically hear fans everywhere screaming, “About damn time!”

But perhaps this whole experience is what needed to happen for Alexis to view Julian in a new light, to truly believe he’s moved on from the man who surrounded himself with violence.

If all of this was a way for these two to find their way back to each other, well, perhaps fans will find it in their hearts to forgive Charlie’s existence and embrace Julexis again. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
