The General Hospital recaps for January 31 – February 4, 2022, feature a failure to properly communicate, further evidence that the PCPD is no better than the Keystone Koppers, and pose philosophical questions like does one exist when no written proof of said existence exists?
Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) is stunned when Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) declares he wants to take her to Paris. Unable to find her birth certificate, she phones the department of records for a copy and learns that no such item exists…Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) agree to go out on a second date. She’s momentarily trapped inside Franco’s art therapy room.
Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) urges Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to give Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) the space she requested; Sonny ignores the sound advice. He calls Carly and begs her to give him one hour later that night; she agrees.
Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) is flummoxed to learn that Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) is allowing Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) to believe that he spent the past few decades in Witness Protection.
Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) reaffirm their friendship. They, and Cameron Webber (William Lipton), agree that Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) is the root cause of the dissension amongst their ranks…Esme manages to worm her way back into Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) good graces.
Ned and Olivia Falconeri Quartermaine’s (Lisa LoCicero) nearest and dearest attend the couple’s vow renewal…Federal Agents arrive with a warrant for Tracy Quartermaine’s (Jane Elliot) arrest. The charges: felony fraud and trafficking in counterfeit goods. Said counterfeit good: The Ice Princess…Carly is clued in on Sonny’s planned extravagance. She confronts him over not honoring her expressed wishes.
Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) discuss Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) imminent return to Pentonville and ponder whether or not Selena Wu (Lydia Look) will order another hit on him…Kristina Corinthos (Lexi Ainsworth) encourages her mother, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), not to end her friendship with Harmony (Inga Cadranel)…After Willow asks her to look for a copy of her birth certificate, Harmony seeks out Alexis.
Harmony tells Alexis that Willow was born on a commune who shunned the outside world, and she, therefore, has no official birth certificate. Alexis agrees to help her friend…Sonny reveals that he’d planned to recreate his and Carly’s first wedding; he’s worried that they have no future to look forward to.
Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) rides to Tracy’s rescue; Tracy bids the Q’s adieu…Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) puts the pieces together and deduces that Bailey and Louise are one and the same…Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) assures Spencer that he’ll be well looked after in Spring Ridge. Spencer heads to the Jerome Gallery, bound and determined to speak to Trina.
Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) comes clean to Austin about her and Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) subterfuge. When pressed, Maxie swears that her feelings for Austin are genuine and that the kiss they shared meant something to her.
Laura Collins (Genie Francis) warns Victor away from her family…Spencer and Trina achieve rapprochement – much to Esme’s chagrin…Sonny makes amends with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison)…Drew and Sam McCall (Temporary Recast Lindsay Hartley) privately wonder where they stand with each other.
Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Mac Scorpio (John J. York) load Peter into a van bound for Pentonville. The effort is stymied by blown-out tires and the approach of another vehicle.
Mac and Dante are set upon by hired goons, including one of their fellow PCPD officers. Mac is grievously injured in the mele. Peter makes his escape and succeeds in kidnapping Lousie…Maxie reiterates her genuine feelings for Austin, but he’s dubious. Later, he calls her and apprises her of the situation in regard to Peter.
Carly debates joining Sonny on The Haunted Star. Drew acts as her sounding board. She makes up her mind to go to her husband, but news of Peter’s escape reaches her and Drew…Kristina wrongly assumes that Carly won’t be meeting Sonny and tells him so. Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) arrives in Carly’s stead.
