The General Hospital recap for December 30-January 3, 2020, features the wedding day from Hell, reminders that the dead never really stay dead, and Sonny (not quite) learning a lesson.

General Hospital Recap Highlights

Seems like everything is coming full circle for Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). He was able to usurp the Cassadine fortune by causing the rightful heir to plunge from a balcony into an unforgiving ocean and now it seems that he’s poised to lose it all after shoving pesky Ava (Maura West) over a parapet.

Don’t you just hate it when one of your attempted murder victims rescues another one of your attempted murder victims and then crashes your wedding with that person in tow?

By the way, Ava, welcome to a very special club called the We Survived the Parapet Plunge. Fellow members include Brad (Parry Shen) and Katherine Bell (Mary Beth Evans) who was so enthusiastic following her first tumble that she went and did it again, though fall number two saw her bite the big one.

Sonny: Reap What You Sow

“Why couldn’t you trust me?” Glad you asked Sonny (Maurice Benard). Maybe it was because the moment that Carly (Laura Wright) revealed all, your gut instinct was to leap upon your high horse and accuse Jax (Ingo Rademacher) of doing something illegal. And the fact that the irony of such an opinion was lost on you speaks volumes to your (lack of) character.

GH Musings

Who do we think is sending out the invitations for Shiloh’s memorial service? All the recipients were quick to suspect Harmony — and rightfully so — until she also received the summons (possible subterfuge?) Daisy was the next best bet but how about that corrupt cop from Beechers Corners, who is apparently still free to murder innocent people in their jail cell?

What do you think? Post a comment!

Why can’t Sam (Kelly Monaco) have one story that’s actually about her? Even her release from Pentonville and life as a parolee has been reduced to a storyline about Jason (Steve Burton) and how we should feel bad that law officials don’t want a hitman associating with small children — the nerve of them!

Why, Laura?

Dear Laura (Genie Francis), lest you forget, YOU made two triumphant returns from the dead and your mother, Lesley, made one. Why did it take actually seeing Nikolas in the flesh to get you to consider the possibility that maybe, just maybe, he was alive and well? Also: Dear Charlotte (Scarlet Fernandez), don’t listen to your mother. You deserve that pony!

Ava: “Happy is the bride the sun shines on. Happy is the corpse the rain falls on. Oh, or is it the other way around?” Well, Ava, if you had your handy dandy bible on your person — because we all know Ms. Jerome usually totes around the good book — you would find that you were right on the money.

Liesl (Kathleen Gati): “I remember what it’s like to be the town’s Ausgestossene.” Ava: “That better not mean what I think it means!” Liesl: “Then I hope you don’t think it means ‘pariah!'” In case anyone was wondering, that’s exactly what it means.

Why did Ned (Wally Kurth) act so shocked upon hearing Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) say that her manager hit on her? She told him almost the same exact thing weeks ago. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
