The General Hospital recap for Tuesday, January 19, 2021, features Alexis being thrown a lifeline, Olivia realizing an inconvenient truth, and Jax and Nina taking their relationship to the next level.
Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) roused Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) from her slumber in order to present her with a secret weapon: Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight). Alexis wasn’t exactly interested in partnering with “Nelle Benson’s stooge” but Martin had a number of aces up his sleeve, including the fact that he knew all the foibles and vices possessed by the judge overseeing Alexis’s case.
And as such, Martin was able to steer Alexis in the correct direction. Rather than attack arresting officer Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard), as Alexis had previously planned, Martin cautioned that she should instead blame the entire incident on Tracy (Jane Elliot)…and that was a defense that Alexis could get behind!
Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) continued to press Tracy for answers regarding her involvement in Alexis’s predicament, and Tracy exasperatedly admitted to some shady doings. But she intimated that she had a damn good reason for committing them. And they weren’t selfish ones.
And with that confession, smart cookie Olivia put two and two together and realized that something untoward had transpired between her husband and Alexis!
During a conversation with Nina (Cynthia Watros), Jax (Ingo Rademacher) used the much-longed-for and equally-reviled “L word.” He saw it as a positive step forward; Nina bemoaned her track record where relationships were concerned. Both agreed that they were happy together.
An eavesdropping Sam (Kelly Monaco) overheard Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) discussing Franco’s (Roger Howarth) tumor and had a major freak-out. Elizabeth comforted Sam by revealing that this time, the mass was inoperable, and Sam, in turn, admitted that Jason (Steve Burton) was probably already aware of the situation.
Over at the Webber abode, Cameron (William Lipton) and Franco learned that the former had been accepted into Stanford University. Cue the celebration. Cue the brooding. Cam isn’t sure he’s going to accept the acceptance because…reasons.
Meanwhile, Jason met up with Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) to reiterate how bad Cyrus (Jeff Kober) was and to argue over whether or not she was a bad person. Jury’s still out on that one. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
