The General Hospital recap for January 6-10, 2020 features Nikolas and Ava making their mark, a crisis for Valentin, and so much more.

General Hospital Recap Highlights

It’s all change at Castle Wyndemere. Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) is out, Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) is in and the Prince finally found his Princess — though it isn’t exactly a love match considering the fact that Ava (Maura West) is planning to, “take him to the cleaners.”

Valentin: Not A Cassadine

Oh, by the way, did you hear that Valentin isn’t actually a Cassadine? According to the codicil in Mikkos’ will, he is actually Helena’s son. But don’t expect him to be changing his last name to Romanov anytime soon. In fact, Valentin steadfastly refused to entertain the possibility since the woman hated him so much.

Clearly, he never met Stefan or Irina — the former Helena despised for his humanity and the latter she put a bullet in because she had dared to tell her Mommy no.

But the disgraced usurper has more pressing matters to attend to, seeing as how he is currently a guest of the PCPD after being charged with perpetrating a fraud and lesser included offenses like tampering with a corpse. Good thing he has the Kentucky Fried Colonel on retainer.

GH Musings

Do you think it’s possible for Ava to start a trend of brides ditching those voluminous, white wedding gown in favor of donning their sparkliest, featheriest robes for the big day?

Julian: “So, what the hell’s a parapet, anyway?” Good question, Julian (William deVry). People in Port Charles do tend to casually throw that word around but you can’t really blame them giving the number of residents who have tumbled from one.

What do you think? Post a comment!

From General Hospital chief of staff to agony aunt to “unofficial maid.” Boy, Liesl’s (Kathleen Gati) career trajectory just keeps on spiraling doesn’t it? Speaking of Liesl, girl really knows how to hold a grudge huh? She’s still angry at Nikolas for having Brit imprisoned.

Elizabeth upon seeing Nikolas: “You’re supposed to be dead.” Yes, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), he is. And so were two of your husbands, your mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandmother-in-law…are you seeing a pattern here Lizziebear?

Show of hands. Who’s excited for Jordan’s (Briana Nicole Henry) brand spanking new storyline? Now a show of hands from viewers who could really care less about a mystery surrounding a dead acquaintance who didn’t even rate a mention until this point.

Were you surprised at Dev’s (Aston Arbab) reaction to the kiss that Josslyn (Eden McCoy) planted on him? And are you buying the excuse he offered about not wanting to disrespect Sonny (Maurice Benard) by getting involved with his step daughter? Or do you think something else is afoot?

“You’re not even family.” Actually, Carly (Laura Wright), with the last name Corbin, Gladys (Bonnie Burroughs) is more family to Sonny and Mike (Max Gail) than you’ll ever be — if you want to get all technical about it.

Also on the subject of Gladys, can we just go ahead and assume that she’s a big ol’ red herring and not the actual criminal whose trying to start a turf war with Sonny? General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
