The General Hospital recap for Friday, July 17, 2020, features a flashback to May of this year. In that episode, Kristina told Sam all about herself, Martin gave Nelle some advice, and Nina got on Carly’s bad side.

General Hospital Recap Highlights

Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth) met Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) exasperated accusations with some tough truths of her own. She said Sam was a danger junkie, just like Jason (Steve Burton). And it was danger and the thrill of the chase that had kept the spark alive between the couple.

In fact, Sam should be thankful that Kristina got involved with the cult. It gave her and Jason a villain to hunt down together. Sam rebuked her sister’s claims and claimed that all she truly desired was a quiet life with her husband and family.

Fat chance, retorted Kristina. As long as Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly (Laura Wright) continued to breathe, Jason would put them and their needs above his family’s. The truth stung and Sam wasn’t about to accept it.

Nelle Needs To Make Friends and Influence People

Speaking of stinging truths, Martin (Michael E. Knight) let Nelle (Chloe Lanier) know that if she couldn’t wrangle up some character witnesses she would be at a distinct disadvantage during her custody trial. If only Nelle hadn’t alienated everybody who ever met her…

Enter Nina (Cynthia Watros) who spent the entire episode arguing on Nelle’s behalf…even at the risk of earning Carly’s fiery wrath. A conversation with Jax (Ingo Rademacher) couldn’t seem to dissuade Nina of her notion that Nelle should be apart of her child’s life. But then Nelle herself showed up and asked her boss for a reference. And that action seemed a little suspicious to Nina.

In Their Hour Of Need

Ava (Maura West) cried on Franco’s (Roger Howarth) shoulder and told him about Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) disparaging her mothering skills. Franco cautioned Ava to leave her marriage and he also hit on her reason for involving herself with Nikolas in the first place: guilt over her treatment of Kiki.

Over at GH, Nikolas turned to Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) for some friendly counsel. Should he renounce his worldly possessions and reunite with his son? Would Spencer (Nicolas Bechtel) even want him if he had no money?

Elizabeth insisted that Spencer would love Nikolas no matter his finical standing, but Nikolas wasn’t so sure. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
