The General Hospital recap for Friday, April 10, 2020, features a throwback to a very special birth and a simultaneous loss of epic proportion.
General Hospital Recap Highlight
With so much discussion surrounding the well being of little Wiley – will he be able to stay with Michael (Chad Duell) or will wicked Nelle (Chloe Lanier) claim him as her prize – GH took full advantage of “Flashback Friday” by re-airing the episode in which the boy in question was born and a plethora of characters converged on Route 23 near mile marker 17.
Context Is Key
Nelle’s bad, bad ways have finally caught up with her. Not only did Michael trick her into confessing to a whole host of criminal doings – including the murder of her fiancée, Zachary Grant and her gaslighting of Carly (Laura Wright) – but he did so while said confession was being recorded!
But just when it seemed that Nelle’s chickens had come home to roost, Liesl Obrecht – an equally shady lady – caused the prison van she was being escorted in to swerve into the lane Michael’s vehicle was occupying.
Both automobiles skidded off the road and suffered their own respective damage. Meanwhile, do-gooder Jason (Steve Burton) – with an assist from Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) – has infiltrated Ferncliff asylum, intent on rescuing his wrongly sanctioned gal pal, Carly.
Carly: Free At Last
Though he possessed nothing more than a handgun, a pair of zip ties, and Franco’s badge, Jason was able to not only rescue Carly from her scheduled ECT treatment but safely escort her out of the building.
After a quick stop off at GH – in order to drop off the oh-so-amiable Franco – Jason took Carly to the safe house where he offered her a cool beverage and shoulder to cry on.
Last Stand
Meanwhile, Nelle awoke from her injury-inducing sleep and attempted to make a run for it. However, she was briefly stopped by Michael – who also woke up and admonished her for her crimes.
After realizing that Michael was trapped inside the car by a jammed seatbelt, Nelle left him to his own devices… ‘hopeful’ that the gas leaking car “wouldn’t” explode and kill him.
After traveling for less than a mile, she went into labor. Luckily for her, Dr. Obrecht happened upon the scene and opined that perhaps Nelle could birth a good and decent child.
But while Nelle welcomed new life into the world, Brad’s (Parry Shen) recently acquired son perished. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
