General Hospital Recap: Stella Returns To Say Her Goodbyes

The General Hospital recap for September 10, 2020, features heartbreak for the Corinthos clan, Robert getting a blast from the past, Nina getting some long-sought answers, and some shocking lip locks.

General Hospital Recap Highlights

A depressed Sonny (Maurice Benard) was momentarily heartened by Stella’s (Vernee Watson) sudden appearance. The old friends chatted about Mike (Max Gail), his recent visit to the track, and Sonny’s struggle with saying goodbye.

Afterward, Stella and Sonny briefly parted – his old friend entered Mike’s room and the latter returned to Turning Woods reception area to speak with Ned (Wally Kurth). Sonny was glad to hear that Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) had decamped to Dante’s (Dominic Zamprogna) side and he lightly admonished Ned for his selfish attitude.

Josslyn (Eden McCoy) arrived at the facility to have her own private chat with Mike, and soon she was joined by the entire family, Stella included. Mike suddenly took a turn for the worse, and an attending nurse diagnosed him as suffering from pneumonia. With a heavy heart, Stella informed a questioning Sonny that Mike’s end was fast approaching.

Echoes From The Past

Across the pond, and just outside a stone-clad chapel, Robert (Tristan Rogers) said his final goodbye to Holly (Emma Samms). But all was not well in Merry Old England. Robert was still convinced that there’s more to the story…and a subsequent phone call, purportedly from Holly, seemed to confirm his suspicions.

Olivia attempted to talk him round. Surely the phone call was another person entirely who merely sounded like Holly. Or perhaps it was a long-ago recording. Either way, Robert is more determined than ever to get to the bottom of things – and he’s going to have Olivia right by his side.

What Is In A Name?

Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Jax (Ingo Rademacher) were able to successfully locate the jeweler who created, and later split, the all-important heart necklace. Luckily for the intrepid duo, the man was ready, willing, and able to assist in their inquiries.

Yes, he did remember working on that particular piece. Yes, he did recall the woman who put him up to it. And no, she looked nothing like Nina’s mother. However, he can provide them with a name: Phyllis Caulfield. And it’s a name that Nina recognizes.

Sealed With A Kiss

Franco (Roger Howarth) and Liz (Rebecca Herbst) are clearly up to something. But if not, they have some serious explaining to do seeing as how they locked lips with Ava (Maura West) and Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) respectively! General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
