The General Hospital recap for Tuesday, May 19, 2020, features Sonny sticking his nose into everyone’s business – and getting some tough news of his own. Also, Carly issuing a threat, Nina (seemingly) siding with the devil and Franco angering Liz (again).
Sonny (Maurice Benard) cornered Julian (William deVry) and demanded some answers. Surprisingly, Julian wasn’t exactly interested in explaining the exact reason that he married Nelle (Chloe Lanier) – and Sonny wasn’t buying the excuse that it was a match made in heaven.
Sonny insisted that Julian should get rid of his wife — then he had to clarify that he meant via an annulled marriage. Julian said no; Sonny fumed. Then the latter took off for Turning Woods.
Upon arrival he met Nikolas (Marcus Coloma), whom he (once again) admonished for marrying Ava (Maura West) He also wondered why Nikolas hadn’t responded to Spencer’s (Nicolas Bechtel) ultimatum, but as Nikolas had already explained to Elizabeth (Rebecca Budig) — “it’s complicated.”
Once alone with Mike (Max Gail), Sonny did his best to try and reach the ailing man. In the meantime, Jason (Steve Burton) turned to Elizabeth and asked her opinion. She, in turn, revealed that she believes Mike is ready to pass on…he’s just waiting for Sonny’s permission.
Carly (Laura Wright), Michael (Chad Duell), Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), and Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) took advantage of the recessed court to retire to the Metro Court and crow about Nelle’s latest stunt.
Surely her marriage to a known mobster will only hurt her case. And is there ANYONE who will actually believe that the two are actually in love? According to Martin Grey, (Michael E. Knight), there are plenty who will.
And he also cautioned that they shouldn’t judge his client’s new husband so harshly — everybody knows Sonny doesn’t just import coffee. Carly got pissed off, mentioned the man’s future funeral, and refused to take his lunch order. That’ll teach him.
Downstairs at Crimson, Nelle filled Nina (Cynthia Watros) in on her matrimonial news. Nina tried to offer advice, but it fell on deaf ears. What Nelle really wanted from her boss was her agreement to testify on her behalf. And Nina agreed.
Franco (Roger Howarth) was none-too-happy to find out that Elizabeth and Nikolas were confiding in each other. He had a tense confrontation with the latter and then angered the former with his questions about the true nature of her relationship with her ex. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
