Wedded Bars: Should General Hospital’s Liz and Franco Get a Fancy, Do Over Wedding?

General Hospital’s Liz and Franco are finally married! In a jail cell! With Drew (Billy Miller) officiating! Without her sons! Or any of their friends! Or their families! (OK, Heather is busy being crazy, but Scott isn’t that otherwise occupied.

And, what about Liz’s parents? They haven’t visited her one single time in more than two decades since they sent her to live with her step-gram in Port Charles. (Hmmm, now what about the ever-babysitting Gran and coming and going Sarah?)

Did this couple deserve a different kind of Valentine’s Day wedding? Something a little less…prison-ish? What almost 10,000 potential guests had to say:

Wasted Vows
It’s not fair, 52% of you lament. Luke (Anthony Geary) and Laura (Genie Francis) got horse-drawn carriages, an on-location shoot and even Scott showed up. Carly (Laura Wright) and Sonny (Maurice Benard) got wedding after wedding and not a single one of them in jail (no matter how much he may have deserved to be in a jail wedding).

But, Liz (Rebecca Herbst) and Franco (Roger Howarth) warrant this insult of a ceremony? It’s especially painful since viewers know Franco has been framed by Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) and is being kept from the love of his life under false pretenses. Friz fans deserved better, and so did their favorite couple!

Vintage Vows
A jailhouse ceremony was vintage Liz and Franco, a supportive 47% counter. It was sweet, private, romantic, and all about their feelings for each other instead of other people’s feelings about them.

What do you think? Post a comment!

Who cares if the world – and law enforcement – insists on seeing Franco as the serial killer he no longer is?

Liz knows the real Franco, the man who is so sweet with her sons, the one she wants to have another child with her. Liz and Franco don’t need approval from the allegedly good people of Port Charles. They love each other, and that’s all that matters.

General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
