The General Hospital recap for Monday, November 12 features a day when nothing actually happened except that Sonny had a weird dream.

What if he never pulled that trigger and killed Vincent Marino? In Sonny’s dream, the teenage version of himself didn’t make the kill. Instead, Mike managed to stop his son from changing his life.

So, then Sonny woke up in a Bensonhurst apartment with pictures of Maurice Benard’s kids on the mantle, a picture of Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) on an end table, and Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) as his wife. Sonny is even an NYPD police sergeant, so look at that.

As for Dante, well, he’s the mobster living in Port Charles working for Julian (William deVry) and Ava (Maura West), and married to Sam (Kelly Monaco). Sonny and Olivia traveled upstate to visit Dante, and Sonny did his best to talk his son out of being a mobster.

So, in this version of Port Charles, Jason’s (Steve Burton) last name is Smith because he worked for Frank and now he works for Julian, Sam is sick of being married to a mobster, Julian is taken down, and Sam suggests that Jason take off on a motorcycle.

Carly (Laura Wright) still had a son named Michael who is head of ELQ, but she has also been married to alcoholic AJ for years and is an alcoholic herself.

When she confronted the Jeromes about some ELQ stuff, Sonny took a liking to her and they went and had a talk about life.

At the end of all this whatever it was, Dante shot Jason on the docks, and Sonny found him and tried to stop him from shooting again. They struggled, the gun went off, Dante was shot, and Olivia ran in and said, “You shot your own son.”

Then young Sonny shot Vincent Marino, Sonny woke, checked out his reflection in the window, and the end.
