The General Hospital recap for Friday, August 16 features a day of recapitulation, mother-son bonding, and a shockingly violent act.
Sam (Kelly Monaco) arrived at Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly’s (Laura Wright) to fill them in on the entire sordid mess that is Dranco. Carly takes the news especially hard and wonders what the outcome will be. Will they now have to refer to Franco as Drew and watch as he lives another man’s life? And what about poor Elizabeth and her boys?
The real Drew (Billy Miller) has exactly the same concerns and he discusses them with his “mom” – Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) – over at General Hospital. Monica tried to get Drew to appreciate the (slim) silver lining that this incident has brought. He and his family were robbed of precious memories and now that Franco has them all locked inside his head perhaps he will share them with his cousin.
Hayden (Rebecca Budig) answered Finn’s (Michael Easton) summons and he recounted for her the Dranco saga. He also cautioned her that she may have come into contact with the virulent string of influenza that Sasha is currently battling.
Hayden panicked and asked if she can be near children. Finn’ interest is peaked but Hayden covers and says that she OF COURSE meant Elizabeth’s children.
Later, she arrived at Elizabeth’s (Rebecca Herbst) suitcases in hand and told her sister that she was moving in and taking no for an answer. So, maybe she really did mean Elizabeth’s children.
At the Floating Rib, Jason (Steve Burton) ran into Franco (Roger Howarth) who launched into a tirade about how “his” twin was raised in the lap of luxury while he grew up decidedly middle class and only learned about his true lineage when he saw a photo of Jason in a newspaper.
Side note: Drew — or the Drew inside Franco — is aware that Alan Quartermaine and Susan Moore were his parents but the only thing he seemed to know about Susan was that she had died. Wonder if he learned that she was a blackmailer who got murdered by his granny’s first husband?
He became violent when Jason continued to call him Franco and when Chase (Josh Swickard) tried to break them up — and used the dreaded F word to address “Andrew” — Franco punched him in the face.
That little assault and battery on an officer of the law earned Franco a pair of nice and shiny bracelets and he was lead away for booking! General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
