The General Hospital recap for Monday, November 22, 2021, features (sigh) Peter August living to see another day, a crisis at the titular hospital, and Nina Reeves bemoaning her pitiful existence.
After trying and failing (miserably) to kill Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), Peter (Wes Ramsey) was caught out by Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) – yay! – who promptly lowered their weapons and arrested him – boo!
During questioning, Peter all but put his hands together and cackled manically about all the dead enemies he had in his basement tunnels – remaining unaware that everybody save for Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) were alive and in fine shape all things considering.
Despite being disappointed to eventually see the likes of Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) emerge upstairs, Peter continued getting his jollies by calling up Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and letting her know that he was on his way back to the States.
Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) were both aghast to hear Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) claim paternity of Bailey – though the latter very quickly joined her bestie in the charade.
Afterward, they both worried about Valentin’s next move…which they rightfully should be. Having laid down and boo-hooed for a spell, Valentin eventually worked up the energy to call a lackey and plan something evil.
Opposite this, baby boy Corbin was rushed to the NICU, and a hemorrhaging Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) slipped into unconsciousness. After getting the bum’s rush out of the OR – courtesy of Nurse Webber Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) – Brando found a sounding board in Maxie. Luckily for Brando, Sasha rallied round…but the wee one wasn’t out of the woods yet.
In case you’ve forgotten, Nina (Cynthia Watros) had an awful life up to this point. Terrible mother, husband, a string of unsuitable, untrustworthy suitors, etc. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) doesn’t think that all that excuses any of Nina’s recent behavior – but it does explain it.
