The General Hospital recap for Monday, September 27, 2021, features Liesl Obrecht’s best-laid plan going to pot, Nina Reeves continuing to apologize to Sonny Corinthos, and Elizabeth Webber Baldwin and Hamilton Finn inching ever closer to full-blown coupledom.
They say that he – or, in this case, she – who hesitates is lost; so, since Liesl (Kathleen Gati) failed to rise to the occasion and rid the world of Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy), it should come as no surprise that she’s headed for the dungeon currently housing Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and a woman unknown. Damn that interfering Peter August (Wes Ramsey), and Liesl’s slow reaction time!
And in a prime example of out of the frying pan and into the fire, Chloe Jennings (Phoebe Kuhlman) managed to make it to an American Embassy, whose helpful staff rushed her to a hospital…operated by a doctor on Victor’s payroll. If there was ever someone to make a murder look like an accident…ugh!
While Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) sat around wondering what exactly to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) re: their marriage, and whether or not he’s been properly medicated the past few months, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) was planting her foot firmly in her mouth by letting it slip to Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) that she’s known all about Sonny’s resurrection.
How’s that now, asks Josslyn. Gulp, says Maxie. Then it’s off to the Corinthos Compound, for a confab with Carly…but exactly how much will Maxie reveal? Will she rat out sister-in-law dearest?
And speaking of Nina (Cynthia Watros)…in case Sonny doesn’t already know it, she’s really, really sorry for what she did to him. And despite all his growling, and blustering, Sonny had to admit that he knows Nina didn’t do what she did out of malice – well, maybe in the beginning, but not later on – so he can maybe, one day, possibly forgive her. But woe is her when Carly and co. learn the whole sordid truth.
Finn (Michael Easton) likes Liz (Rebecca Herbst); Liz likes Finn; so why continue to act like two adolescence, rather than two grown adults who want to enter in a romantic partnership? But sure, sure…planning a night out at a bar on trivia night works just as well.
