The General Hospital recap for Tuesday, September 8, 2020, features Olivia being shut out and down by Dante, Cyrus making waves, Peter desperate for some outside assistance, and Spinelli getting some bad news.
Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) and Robert (Tristan Rogers) successfully arrived at the WSB facility in Geneva only to be barred entry by Dante’s (Dominic Zamprogna) doctor. Olivia argued that her presence would prove Dante’s recovery and the doctor agreed to relent…on the proviso that Dante acquiesces as well.
The trio gathered outside Dante’s room, and the doctor entered. Dante, having already heard his mother’s voice from outside his room, refused the visit. The slight destroyed Olivia who melted into a puddle of tears outside the door.
Once recovered, she thanked Robert for his help and insisted that she accompany him to Holly’s (Emma Samms) memorial service. Her trip might have been for naught, but Olivia was determined to help her companion get some closure.
Over at GH, Lulu (Emme Rylan) was frustrated by Cyrus’ (Jeff Kober) intrusion into her conversation with Kevin (Jon Lindstrom). Then, the intrepid reporter was left indignant when she learned of Monica (Leslie Charleson) and Bobbie’s (Jacklyn Zeman) firings.
Lulu was further irritated by the chairman’s “recap” of her and Laura’s (Genie Francis) early life and she later confided in Kevin that Cyrus was far too interested in her mother.
The autopsy results are in and Neil Byrne (Joe Flanigan) did indeed die of an opioid overdose. And with no signs of a struggle, it appears obvious to the medical examiner that the drugs were injected voluntarily.
Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) insisted that the conclusion was wrong – Neil would never have taken drugs let alone in her bed after a night of lovemaking. Alexis insisted that she would find her answers and set off for home…with Julian (William deVry) in tow.
Back at the house, Julian discovered a discarded needle underneath Alexis’s bed — vidence that seemingly confirmed the doctor’s opinion. However, across town, Jordan (Briana Nicole Henry) had a pertinent question to put to Cyrus. “Why did you murder Neil Byrne?”
At the Metro Court, Peter (Wes Ramsey) turned to Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) for help in his dealings with Spinelli (Bradford Anderson). Concurrently, Spinelli played the incriminating recording of Peter for Jason (Steve Burton).
Much to his chagrin, Spinelli was informed that Peter’s words still wouldn’t be enough to convince anyone of his guilt. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
