The General Hospital recap for Tuesday, October 19, 2021, features a major bait-and-switch, parenting advice, spy games, and more.
Nobody – save for perhaps Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) – cares about Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). When the innocent man was pumped full of lead and fell over the side of a footbridge into the river below, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) chose to tend to a wounded Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), rather than attempt a rescue, while Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) just stood around being ineffectual, as is his wont.
Then, when Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) broached the subject of Drew’s whereabouts, Robert’s all, oh, he’s probably dead; and Sam’s all, oh, how sad…well, moving on. Fortunately, Drew is alive; unfortunately, he’s not in the least bit well. He’s back under Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) thrall, and that’s never a good place to be.
Drew might not be a person of interest, but there sure are a lot of people with an opinion about Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez). Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) wants him in jail; Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) wants him to stay well away from her daughter; and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) wanted to leverage him to get info from Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma).
Meanwhile, Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) took Anna and Robert by surprise with his claim to be Valentin’s father. Well, Anna was surprised; Robert was merely disgusted.
A yet to be identified by name music enthusiast, and all-around creeper (Robert Gossett), continued to get his eyes on an unawares Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) – and managed the perfect getaway when his cover was nearly blown by The Savoy’s barkeep cum waitress cum gofer. Whatever an unhelpful Curtis is paying this woman, it’s not enough; she’s doing the work of five people here.
