General Hospital Recap: A Nina-And-Madeline Reunion To Remember!

The General Hospital recap for Friday, August 17, features Nina seeing her mother for the first time in three years — to not-so-shocking results.

Nina Loses It On Madeline
Apparently, Madeline Reeves had been begging Maxie to see pictures of James, so Maxie and Nina paid her mother a visit and it went as well as could be expected.

Madeline feigned joy at seeing a video of James and reminisced about Nathan as a baby. She then apologized to Nina for all she did to her, and Nina and Maxie almost believed her until she said a good word to the parole board would help.

Then, Nina and Maxie hightailed it out of there because they knew exactly what Madeline really wanted. Madeline was later surprised when Valentin showed up.

Alexis threw a party for Wiley at her house and Mike (Max Gail) remarked at how much Wiley looked like Carly. Sonny (Maurice Benard) tried to brush it off as part of Mike’s dementia.

Later, Julian (William deVry) said the baby looked very different from the one he first saw in the hospital. When Julian went to grab his phone to show a pic for proof, Brad reached for a diaper and made sure Julian dropped the phone.

Alexis then got a call from the birth mother’s attorney, who informed her that she wanted the baby back.

Sonny and Julian Faced Off
After yet another contractor told him that he can’t expand the bar, Julian confronted Sonny to find out what he was up to. Sonny dismissed Julian’s concerns, but Julian swore to get to the bottom of things.

Drew Refused To Help
Margaux (Elizabeth Hendrickson) cornered Drew (Billy Miller) and tried to get him to use Jason’s memories so she can bring down Sonny.

Drew acknowledged that while he and his twin brother weren’t close, he wasn’t going to be a pawn in anyone’s game, least of all Margaux’s. He also told the DA that Jason would rather rot in jail than turn on Sonny.

Peter Becomes a Businessman
Peter (Wes Ramsey) informed Valentin (James Patrick Stewart) that all charges against him were dismissed. Peter agreed to stay away from Nina, and in exchange, Valentin helped get him a share of The Invader. Later, Peter offered Maxie a job there.
