The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, August 17 finds Summer manipulating everyone in sight, Sharon reaching out to the wrong person, and Ashley and Neil trying to forget their respective worries. Also, somebody is looking for JT…

Money Talks
Summer (Hunter King) implicitly accepted Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) bribe – much to Nick’s disappointment in his Supergirl – when Billy (Jason Thompson) walked in and she showed him her daddy’s check… without spilling about him sleeping with Phyllis (Gina Tognoni).

Phyllis was upset that Summer would keep quiet for Nick but not for her. The two agreed to a girls’ outing, but both looked quite cranky.

Kyle (Michael Mealor) reminded Summer than she initially wanted Billy because he was no strings, but now she sounds like she’s after a relationship.

Billy, meanwhile, made it clear to Summer that her kiss meant nothing. They are not a thing. Go away.

Asking Nicely
Sharon (Sharon Case) asked Abby (Melissa Ordway) to be a bridesmaid, but the situation quickly escalated into a reminder of how Abby slept with Scott while he was living with Sharon. Arturo (Jason Canela) calmed Abby down, and she accepted Sharon’s invitation.

Smooth Jazz
Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Neil (Kristoff St. John) went out, listened to jazz, cried on each other’s shoulders about the messes their families are in, danced, and made out. Nothing horrible happened. Yet.

Hello, My Name Is….
Nick met a fellow named Rey (Jordi Vilasuso), who asked him and Sharon about renting a place in Genoa City for the short-term.

At wherever he’s staying now, Rey looked at a pin-up board with pictures of Sharon, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Victor (Eric Braeden), Nick, and Phyllis. With many arrows pointing towards JT (Thad Luckinbill). Art project? Fed? Criminal?
