The General Hospital recap for Thursday, December 19, 2019, features Nikolas having some ‘splaining to do, a reckoning between Nina and Liesl, a conversation about Charlotte, and Sonny sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong — as per usual.
General Hospital Recap Highlights
Ever the genial hostess, Ava (Maura West) apologized to Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) that she couldn’t offer him a martini — her hands were already full, what with her own drink and the revolver she was clutching.
Nik insisted he wasn’t a threat to her safety but Ava decided to err on the side of caution and keep the gun handy. She then demanded that Nik explain how he survived his supposed death at Valentin’s (James Patrick Stuart) hand and where he had been for all the many years he allowed his loved ones to grieve his loss.
Nikolas revealed that a crew operating a rich man’s yacht rescued him from the waters and he recuperated near Athens.
Furthermore, he said that he had stayed away for two reasons: to avoid being arrested for the fraud he perpetrated. And he was also waiting for Valentin to use the documents that he had signed under duress, giving away his rights to the Cassadine fortune.
His story told, Nikolas wondered if Ava had destroyed the codicil that would “have fixed everything” or if she had secreted it away. “You have the codicil?” “Of course I do,” Ava gleefully replied.
Truth About Valentin
At Wyndemere, Nina (Cynthia Watros) demanded that Liesl (Kathleen Gati) level with her about the involvement she played in Sasha’s (Sofia Mattsson) deception. Her back against the wall, Liesl told her niece how Valentin had used Madeline’s DNA to rig the test and offered up her sister’s hair clippings to back up the claim.
Worrisome Developments
Hoping to cut her father’s daughter off at the pass, and avoid an ugly custody battle, Lulu headed to Spoon Island to discuss the matter only to find Valentin in a particularly unfriendly mood. The argument that followed ended with Lulu vowing to prove that Valentin was an unfit parent.
Mind Your Business
Sonny (Maurice Benard) asked Jason (Steve Burton) to find out what Carly (Laura Wright) and Jax (ingo Rademacher) were up to. Later, he spied on the besties talking in the hospital and realized that the secret Carly is hiding was bigger than he thought. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
