The General Hospital recap for January 13-17, 2020, features an important lesson: Villains always prosper here.

General Hospital Recap Highlights

Anyone operating under the assumption that crime doesn’t pay needn’t book a vacation in Port Charles, New York. Because not only is this a town in which evildoers prosper its also a locale where the rules governing prison etiquette simply do not exist.

Not only does PC have a co-ed prison but they apparently think it’s fine to dole out marriage licenses to anyone looking to get hitched. How else to explain the fact that Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) is now Nelle Archer, aka Shiloh’s (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) widow?

Quartermaines Will Quartermaine

And now, not only is the one-time murderess free to torment her favorite victims — chief among the multitude are Michael (Chad Duell) and Brad (Parry Shen) — but she’s also the proud owner of Shiloh’s ELQ shares and she’s going to use them in any way she sees fit. At least, until the Q’s manage to strong-arm her out of the company — and we all know they will.

GH Musings

“Shame on you Shiloh. You were a sadistic, manipulative sociopath, and I am glad your dead!” Dang Willow (Katelyn MacMullen)! Too bad you didn’t get to unload this vitriol on your rapist when he was still among the living — we think you would have left him quaking in his boots!

Considering the fact that she requested an island of her very own, what else do you think the newly minted Mrs. Cassadine asked for in her postnuptial agreement?

Don’t you wish that the surprise return of detective Marcus Taggert (Real Andrews) hadn’t been spoiled by the soaps “Next Day” teasers? Especially when the scenes themselves shrouded the character in mystery until Sonny (Maurice Benard) made his entrance and spotted his old rival.

“So, this is it?” It seems so Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn). But the show was never really invested in your romance with Neil (Joe Flanigan) anyway. And they have to clear your slate before Julian (William deVry) starts sniffing around again.

“This is gonna be good cause I’m gonna take you back where I grew up, right? Where half the people are Cerillos, and half the people are Falconeris.” Actually, Sonny that sounds like hell on earth. Don’t get us wrong, we loved Lois (Rena Sofer) and still adore Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) but they are enough, thank you very much. (Editor’s Note: Brooklyn is not hell on Earth. Editor grew up there.)

Raise your hand anyone who was surprised by fact that perennial rivals Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Lulu (Emme Rylan) have Dustin (Mark Lawson) in common. It hasn’t been five minutes and already a triangle is brewing.

So, Luke Spencer (Tony Geary) has gotten himself involved in a spot of bother over…counterfeit tulips? Yea, that makes sense.

Do we think that Laura’s (Genie Francis) whole, “Let’s clean up the waterfront” stance is going to actually go somewhere? Or is this just going to be another squandered opportunity?

“Alright, enough! We’re not talking about my past!” Oh come on Tracy (Jane Elliot), let’s do just that! It’s certainly colorful enough. However, it was strange that when your family was listing all the reprobates that you married they somehow managed to forget Gino Soleito (Al Martino).

“The bottom line is, we’re Quartermaine’s. When push comes to shove, we protect our own.” Now THAT Brook Lynn, is a sentiment when can all get behind! General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC Check your local listings for airtimes.
