The General Hospital recap for Friday, January 22, 2021, features a character and a relationship in crisis — and a secret poised to come out.
General Hospital Recap Highlights
An unmedicated Sonny (Maurice Benard) entered into a manic phase which unnerved Phyllis (Juliette Jeffers) and Lenny (Rif Hutton) – even if their bar was getting a complete deep clean.
Lenny threatened to throw Sonny out into the cold if he didn’t retire for the evening, leading the amnesiac to apologize for his cleaning and profusely thank his hosts…even though Phyllis really should have left him at the hospital.
Couples Therapy
Over at Monica’s (Leslie Charleson), Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) attempted to make amends with Olivia (Lisa LoCicero), though she wasn’t too inclined to forgive and forget that her friend slept with her husband. Drunk or sober, Olivia really didn’t care. Adultery was adultery.
And she told the same to Ned (Wally Kurth), who offered to leave for the night so that she and Leo would stay put. Meanwhile, Tracy (Jane Elliot) was raked over the coals, first by Ned, who accused her of having such an empty life that she had to come back home to meddle.
Then Alexis took a swipe, though Tracy insisted that she had been trying to force Alexis into getting help for her alcoholism. Surprise, surprise, Alexis didn’t buy what was being sold.
Charms Lucky And Otherwise
Carly (Laura Wright) learned from Josslyn (Eden McCoy) that Ava (Maura West) was in possession of Nelle’s (Chloe Lanier) necklace and frantically reached out to Jax (Ingo Rademacher).
For his part, Jax was fine with the development as he hoped it would spur the two of them into telling Nina (Cynthia Watros) the truth. But Carly wasn’t about to come clean. What if Nina decided to push for an investigation into Nelle’s death and Carly was blamed?
No, rather than cop to truth, Carly decided that it would just be best to storm Wyndemere and take the necklace back. Because Ava surely wouldn’t be at all suspicious.
Let’s Make A Deal
While Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) chastised Jason (Steve Burton) for agreeing to kill Franco (Roger Howarth), and pointed out his flaws as a parent, Franco asked Scotty (Kin Shriner) to ensure that Jason wouldn’t go to jail for killing him.
Scotty said that he would. But does the law really work like that? General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
