The General Hospital recap for Thursday, January 24 features the day Jason and Sam fans have been waiting more than a year for — or more than six years — depending on how you look at it.
Sam (Kelly Monaco) managed to pull Jason (Steve Burton) out of the river, but didn’t insist he go to a hospital and make sure he wasn’t hypothermic.
Instead, she took him back to her place, which was originally his place, and later their place. That’s where they both showered and warmed up over some brandy and grilled cheese sandwiches.
They discussed the night Jason disappeared into the water and was presumed dead back in 2012 and how Sam always imagined he’d still be right there. When Jason said he was there now, the two finally made love and much of the GH fandom rejoiced.
At the hospital, Oscar (Garren Stitt) seemed just fine and told Kim (Tamara Braun) he planned to live his life the way he wanted as long as he was dying anyway. Kim wasn’t too thrilled with this, but realized Oscar will just do what he wants anyway.
Josslyn (Eden McCoy) blamed herself and Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly (Laura Wright) had to calm her down. That was easier said than done, but once Sam and Jason called to assure them he was ok, Joss took it as a sign she could go visit Oscar now.
Over at the Friz house, Franco (Roger Howarth), Jake (Hudson West), and Aiden (Jason David) had a late-night baking session, but when Franco told Liz (Rebecca Herbst) to make sure the cupcakes went to school with Aiden, Jake said that was a no-no.
He then showed Franco and Liz the tablet with the message staying “Gayden” and the two adults realized Aiden may be gay although he hasn’t realized it himself yet.
Over at Kelly’s, Marcus told Curtis (Donnell Turner) exactly what happened with Stella all those years ago. As for Stella (Vernee Watson), she realized Mike (Max Gail) may not even recognize her the next time he sees her.
Finally, Sonny had to realize the same thing and make the decision for his father to live in the care center permanently.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
