The General Hospital recap for Friday, January 31, 2020, features more questions than answers as Carly wondered what exactly Gladys and her son are up to, Jordan asked Jason for some assistance, and Valentin pondered whether or not Nina can ever forgive him.
With Jordan’s (Briana Nicole Henry) blessing, Carly (Laura Wright) and Gladys (Bonnie Burroughs) rode in the ambulance transporting Brando (Johnny Wactor) to GH. Upon arrival, the injured hero was attended to by Finn (Michael Easton) while Carly tried to get to the bottom of his sudden return from the dead.
Before she could get anywhere, Finn arrived with an update and Gladys went to be with her son. After spotting Brando’s personal effects, Carly swiped a photograph and was shocked to see that it was one of Gladys and Dev (Ashton Arbab).
Back at the Corinthos Coffee warehouse, Jordan and Chase (Josh Swickard) questioned both Jason (Steve Burton) and another employee but gleamed nothing vital or helpful to the investigation.
After being informed by Jax (Ingo Rademacher) of Nikolas’ (Marcus Coloma) hand in Hayden’s (Rebecca Budig) disappearance, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) took the first available opportunity to slap her ex across the face. When Nik tried to defend his actions, Elizabeth told him to save it.
Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) crashed a meeting between Ava (Maura West) and Nina (Cynthia Watros) and informed his former fiancée that he missed her and thinks about her constantly. “That is not as enduring as I suspect you think it is,” an unimpressed Ava cautioned.
Undeterred, Valentin insisted that he was all Nina needed and that he is sure they belong together. When Nina demurred, he persisted. When she flat out told him no and to leave, he persisted.
Luckily for Nina, Valentin was stopped in his tracks by an arriving Nikolas who presented him with a restraining order and an appointment for a DNA test to prove whether or not he is a Cassadine or merely Helena’s offspring.
Valentin growled that he was the only true heir to the family fortune and that he would prove Helena sent Nikolas on a quest for nothing. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
