The General Hospital recap for Wednesday, August 18, 2021, features Drew Cain making yet another attempt to escape his captors, Laura Collins giving her son some tough love, and Jason Morgan attempting to put out some major metaphorical fires.
While Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) sat around debating whether or not Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) was really the man who called her earlier in the evening, the genuine article sat around in his prison cell gathering intel from a motormouth guard.
After deducing that his actions may have put the mother of his child in extreme danger, Drew went on the attack, managed to grab an ink pen, and begin working to free himself from his cuffs.
The air at Wyndemere was thick with tension. Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez), having come thisclose to being outed as Ava Jerome Cassadine’s (Maura West) stalker, managed to get away scot-free AND come off as the victim.
Meanwhile, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) got a strong telling off from mother of the year Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) – before she set off to her meeting with a group of mobsters – and his own concerned mother, Laura (Genie Francis). She’s concerned that he’s following in Stavros Cassadine’s psychotic footsteps, and since he wound up with a bullet in his chest, Laura’s extremely worried.
It didn’t take Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) long to deduce that the Five Families were displeased with his and Carly’s handling of their business…perhaps it had something to do with Ms. Wu’s intimidation to have Carly permanently eliminated? The take away from the tense sit-down? He and Carly had better get married ASAP.
