The General Hospital recap for Monday, August 3, 2020, features Nina taking a stand, Cyrus making his presence known, Valentin trying to get Brook Lynn on his side, and Olivia and Ned’s relationship starting to unravel.
Nina (Cynthia Watros) stunned Nelle (Chloe Lanier) and those gathered in the courtroom’s gallery by labeling her employee a compulsive liar, a manipulator, and a blackmailer. Oh yes, especially a blackmailer. How else would Nelle have been able to convince Julian (William de Vry) to marry her?
Nelle exploded over the testimony in progress and launched her own tirade against Nina – which included, among other priceless gems, accusations that Nina was a double-crossing bitch and a baby stealer. (Okay, we’re gonna give Nelle that last one.)
Nelle also alleged that Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) had been blackmailed into marrying Michael (Chad Duell) on pain of death and she capped her performance with a supposed panic attack.
Once finished, Nelle had to return to her seat and witness Willow retake the stand and extol Michael’s plethora of virtues. Afterward, the judge retired to his chambers to deliberate. Carly (Laura Wright), Michael, and Willow set off for their respective abodes, and Nelle made a beeline for the Crimson office in order to confront her betrayer.
At a WSB facility in Geneva, Switzerland a restless Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) penned a letter to his mother. Then he promptly hid it away. And it appeared quite clear that the therapeutic exercise did little to calm Dante’s nerves.
Laura (Genie Francis) was less than impressed to find Cyrus (Jeff Kober) sniffing around GH in general and Portia (Brook Kerr) in particular. After warning the criminal away – and offering Portia a friendly ear – Laura was again stymied to see Cyrus chumming it up with a hospital board member.
During a subsequent confrontation, Cyrus intimated that he would be funneling cash into the institution…something that Laura was unagreeable to. When she persisted in denying his charity, Cyrus cryptically warned Laura not to underestimate him.
Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) introduced himself to Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and she quickly deduced that he was the man orchestrating the ELQ takeover. An impressed Valentin then offered the young woman a deal: keep quiet about his involvement, and he would help her (re)jump-start her music career.
Over at Monica’s (Leslie Charleson), Oliva (Lisa LoCicero) and Ned (Wally Kurth) continued to argue over her spiritualism and his devotion to the family company. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
