The General Hospital recap for August 10-14, 2020, features irrefutable proof that there is truth to the old phrase “one step forward, two steps back.”

General Hospital Recap Highlight

Sole custody of Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos was granted to Michael (Chad Duell) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) – and for just one brief shining moment, good triumphed over evil in Port Charles.

Then Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) bullied his way into the CEO position at ELQ – so long Ned (Wally Kurth) and Michael – and scuttled the deal that would have seen the company bail out the financially-strapped General Hospital.

Consequently, drug runner and all-around sleazeball Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) secured himself a seat on the board of the medical institution and began his reign as the building’s savior. Good going Lucy (Lynn Herring)! We agree with Ned. Alan is spinning over in his grave over this great injustice.

Now, if only someone could explain to us how a company can have 101 voting shares rather than the far more logical 100. We’re still not clear on how this works either, Willow, but we do appreciate you bringing it up.

Party Hearty

If invited to a shindig at the foreboding castle perched atop Spoon Island, cut your losses and simply reply with your apologies. Parties or events of any kind held at Wyndemere very rarely go off without a hitch.

People tend to plunge from the property’s uppermost balcony and dead relatives have a habit of popping up at the most inopportune of times. And in the case of Ava’s (Maura West) little art exhibition, apparently, some beauty-hating gremlins either destroyed or waylaid her commission.

With Mike (Max Gail) finally re-ensconced at Turning Woods, might it be time for Sonny (Maurice Benard) to finally turn his attentions to ridding Port Charles of Cyrus?

Are we buying Brando’s (Johnny Wactor) innocent act? And if he didn’t actually cause Jason’s (Steve Burton) accident, why keep mum about Cyrus’ visit to the garage?
