The General Hospital recap for December 28, 2020-January 1, 2021, features Cyrus seriously overestimating himself, and so much more!
Cyrus (Jeff Kober) is the kind of man who has to learn his lessons the hard way. Lesson number one, he’s never, ever going to get the best of Jason (Steve Burton). Lesson number two, he’s never, ever going to convince Jason to go against an order previously laid down by Sonny (Maurice Benard). And lesson number three, he must never, ever underestimate Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright).
Not only did she save the day with a posse of heavily-armed guards and contribute to Cyrus’s utter humiliation, but then she went and (seemingly) kidnapped her rival’s mother right out from under the (not very) watchful eye of her nursing staff. Cyrus had better consider his next move extra carefully.
And he’d had probably better stop threatening to have the whole gang imprisoned for harboring Dev. Carly would so hate to arrange the assassination of the lawyer holding the goods and burn his office to the ground for good measure.
When it comes to the long-ago affair between Finn (Michael Easton) and Jackie (Kim Delaney), who do you stand with: Anna (Finola Hughes), who’s not so subtly pushing for the truth to out, or Jackie and Finn who’d rather keep it all under wraps? Also, do you REALLY believe that there’s zero chance that Finn and Chase (Josh Swickard) are father and son?
On the subject of choosing sides, can we just go ahead and agree that Curtis (Donnell Turner) and T.J. (Tajh Bellow) were justified in the blastings that they gave Jordan (Briana Nicole Henry)?
How is it that NOBODY, not Sam (Kelly Monaco), not Diane (Carolyn Hennesy), and not even Finn thought to check in on Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) in the aftermath of Julian’s (William deVry) death? Heck, how is it that none of them took it upon themselves to let her know of the man’s passing instead of letting her hear about it on her own? Talk about tough love!
Why did Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Peter (Wes Ramsey) think that naming their daughter Louise would be a good way to honor Lulu (Emme Rylan)? Especially seeing as how her name is Lesley Lu and not Louise. And she’s even still alive
Did anyone else catch Jackie’s reference to Laura’s past as Ms. Star Eyes? Long time fans will remember that Jackie was first introduced as the journalist covering Laura’s win of the special beauty contest.
And speaking of Jackie and Laura, with all the talk about Laura being related to Martin and Cyrus via her biological father Gordon Grey, any chance The Powers That Be might go back, work a little more retcon magic (including a slight name change) and tie the evil (and presumed dead) David Gray – he who kidnapped both Jackie’s sister and Laura – to this sordid tale?
Who else is hoping beyond hope that the conversation had by Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and Terry (Cassandra James) concerning Liz’s extended family was a bit of foreshadowing?
It’s been DECADES since Jeff Webber (formerly played by MacGyver headliner Richard Dead Anderson), and Sarah were in town, and we’ve never been privy to who Liz’s mother is. Surely after 20-some odd years, it’s time to find out. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
