The General Hospital recap for Friday, August 20, 2021, features Harrison Chase deciding where his loyalty lies, Valentin Cassadine getting all kinds of jealous, and Nina Reeves coming face to face with an unwelcome relation.
After catching his wife and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) in yet another compromising position, a seriously ticked-off Chase (Josh Swickard) decided that he would indeed help prove that Austin Holt (Roger Howarth) has a legitimate claim to the Quartermaine fortune.
So, while a despondent Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) explained to Michael that she was ready to come clean about their romance, Chase abandoned his wheelchair and went snooping. He found the much-in-demand document – and was caught out by Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton).
Laura Spencer Collins (Genie Francis) did her best to convince Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) to forgive his father, but Spencer insisted that he would not do so. In point of fact, Spencer vowed that he would never again have anything to do with Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) – or his millions.
His girlfriend Esme made her way to meeting Cameron Webber (William Lipton) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) at Kelly’s, introduced by Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla). It didn’t long for them to all realize she’s trouble — but also that perhaps Spencer deserves her.
Southern Fried Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) made small talk with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and quickly decided that he’d like nothing more than to get to know the British bombshell better….despite Valentin’s (James Patrick Stuart) obvious objection. Unluckily, for Martin, he was pulled away from the scene by an emergency phone call – one that sent him scurrying over to Laura’s and declaring that they had a major problem!
While pouring over Lenny Caulfield’s (Rif Hutton) memorabilia, “Mike” (Maurice Benard) ruminated over life and death. He pulled her into a kiss that wasn’t reciprocated – no doubt due to Nina’s feelings of guilt over keeping Sonny from his family.
The duo made up and reconfirmed their decision to care for Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) together. Minutes after Sonny took his leave, Nina was greeted by the sight of Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms)!
