General Hospital Recap: Ava Stakes Her Claim On Her Own Daughter

The General Hospital recap for Tuesday, January 12, 2021, features Ava throwing Carly a curveball, Sonny relying on the kindness of a stranger, and T.J. taking all of his frustrations out on Brando.

General Hospital Recap Highlights

Ava (Maura West), Nikolas (Marcus Coloma), and Avery arrived at the Corinthos compound in order to pay their respects and visit with the family. While Avery went off to the kitchen with Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Trina (Sydney Mikayla), Ava took the opportunity to tell Carly exactly how things were going to stand from now on.

First, Avery would be living with her and Nikolas at Wyndemere. Secondly, she would still be allowed to visit with Carly and her sisters, but it would be at Ava’s discretion. Carly naturally objected…after all, she’s made a living attempting to rear other women’s children. But neither Ava nor Nikolas were willing to budge. Ava is the child’s natural mother, and Carly merely the widow of her father.

You’ve Got A Friend In Me

Except, Sonny (Maurice Benard) hasn’t exactly shuffled off this mortal coil. But he is certainly the worse for wear. The friendly rambler who chanced upon the disheveled man quickly deduced that Sonny had no clear memory of how he got himself into his predicament or indeed who he even was.

The men headed towards the E.R., only to be stymied by a particularly rude state trooper. After giving the two hell, he finally understood that Sonny was in desperate need of medical attention so he escorted them to the hospital.

Emotional Overload

Back in Port Charles, Brando (Johnny Wactor) refused to strike back at a furious T.J. (Tajh Bellow), who (Donnell Turner) Curtis took aside. The men agreed that Jordan (Brianna Nicole Henry) had a lot to answer for, though neither one was sure how to forgive her and move forward.

Molly (Haley Pullos) arrived at the hospital and admitted to T.J. that Brando had actually wanted to come clean about the affair from the beginning; it was she who refused to do so.

Body Politics

Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) attempted to interest Nina (Cynthia Watros) in a story covering Sasha’s brief foray into drug use but were unsuccessful. However, Nina did offer Sasha some praise and a heartfelt thank you for being the best fake daughter a mother could ask for. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
