2020 Winners: What’s In A General Hospital Name?

The year 2020 may certainly be one for the history books, but that doesn’t mean the usual top baby name lists have disappeared. Now that it’s 2021, we see a few trendy General Hospital names on that list and one PC real-life mom was quick to point it out.

General Hospital Name Game

Little Jophielle Love’s mom took to Instagram to point out that two young characters’ names made the list — Violet and Charlotte. Her post also features a photo of Love who plays Hayden and Finn’s daughter, Violet, and Scarlett Fernandez, who plays Lulu and Valentin’s daughter Scarlet.

“How cool is that?” she writes. “Best baby names 2020! Coincidence? Or do all expecting moms watch GH?”

A further look at the Top Baby Names of 2020 from WhatToExpect.com reveals that the names Avery also made the girls’ list, along with the name Willow. GH fans will know Avery (Ava and Grace Scarola) is Sonny and Ava’s daughter, while Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) is the school teacher caught between two men.

Lucas, Aiden, Julian, and even Silas (the character Michael Easton played before Finn), even made the list, proving that GH knows how to name ’em

Of course, a name isn’t everything and storyline also counts. We’d love to see the kids of GH have a story real soon, but understand with COVID-19 protocols it’s hard to get them all on the set at the same time. We do expect to see Violet for Anna (Finola Hughes) and Finn’s wedding and maybe Avery will return now that it looks like Ava (Maura West) may be going for full custody again now that Sonny (Maurice Benard) is presumed dead. Stay tuned to find out. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
