The General Hospital recap for June 8-12, 2020, features a look back at both the 2018 and the 2019 Nurses’ Balls.
The Nurses’ Ball is all about passion, fight, healing, and, of course, hope. It’s an event chock full of great big feelings, lavish performances, and attendees are guaranteed some thrills, some chills, and some chuckles.
Monday and Tuesday’s episodes continued the thread from last week. It’s still 2018 and everyone wanted to know who big bad Henrik really was. Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Jason (Steve Burton) were pretty sure that they had the answer.
There’s no way it’s a coincidence that Peter (Wes Ramsey) possessed a cigarette lighter with the initials CF emblazoned on it. He’s clearly Henrik, the son of the evil Cesar Faison. And he is most likely going to kill Anna (Finola Hughes). How else to voice his displeasure about being abandoned as an infant?
Turns out, JaSam were right on the money…on both accounts. But before the journalist formerly known as Henrik could exact his revenge on mommy dearest, he had to deliver Maxie’s (Kirsten Storms) baby! Talk about having your hands full.
With that task completed, he made his way to the docks and drew a weapon on Anna. Sam and Jason came to the rescue and the rest, as they say, is history….and by that, we mean everything turned out hunky-dory.
Peter and Anna are as close as any mother can be to her clearly-psychotic offspring. And Peter has only killed or caused the deaths of a few troublesome pests. (We’re remembering you Drew Cain and would be-hospital assassin).
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday moved the action forward one year. There were fewer performances in 2019 than previously seen (at last count, it stood at eight) but the drama and the tension were ever-present.
This year, the attendees had to contend with both a smarmy cult leader and serial killer entering their midst. And unlike the slayer stalking the hospital halls back in 2016, this one’s face was well known. It belonged to Ryan Chamberlin (Jon Lindstrom), but it was shared by his identical twin, Kevin…talk about a complication!
At least Shiloh (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) kept mostly to himself and only bothered Sam and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen). And as for Anna, she continued to be a much-in-demand lady.
Luckily for her, rather than a confrontation with an abandoned son, 2019 saw her become engaged to long time lover, Finn (Michael Easton). And it was a development that even Robert (Tristan Rogers) could get behind. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
