General Hospital runs rampant with scene stealers — often, they’re better than the actual scenes! But which ones are your favorite? What over 6,000 had to say.
Loving Liesl
Any supervillain who takes a break from murder and kidnapping to sing torch songs has your vote, which is why a majority 65% picked Dr. Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati). She can be evil, she can be tragic, she can be love-starved.
About the only thing she can’t do is offer sympathy — as demonstrated by her two-second attempt to make Brad (Parry Shen) feel better. But it’s her trying to act like a normal person that gives viewers their biggest laughs!
Just Being
Baby Wiley doesn’t have to do much to steal a scene, according to 21% of you. He just sits there, looking around, drooling, rocking his suspenders. He’s at the center of a major story, so any scene he’s in, your eye just goes to him. And baby Wiley is too chill to care. And he smiles a lot.
A General Hospital Name Game
So Emmy winner Michael E. Knight is on an ABC soap playing a guy named Martin? That’s subtle. He’s a lawyer who always has a quip for any occasion — followed by a restraining order.
He can be funny — but ABC watchers have known that for a couple of decades now. A tiny 8% of General Hospital fans voted him your favorite scene-stealer. Maybe because you’d prefer to see him driving them in Pine Valley. (Soap Hub wants to believe he is Tad with amnesia and somehow picked up a southern accent on his journey to PC. We can dream, can’t we?)
No Respect
And then there’s Scott (Kin Shriner). He’s been coming in last in a bunch of GH polls lately. Is it because viewers take him for granted? Because familiarity breeds contempt? Because he doesn’t have a German accent or an adorable baby face?
Whatever the reason, only 6% gave Scott their votes. Maybe they need to go back and look over his entire body of work. This is the man who practically invented stealing scenes!
