Have you been following the FrankenDrew story on General Hospital? A reformed serial killer named Franco (Roger Howarth) got the memories of Drew (Billy Miller), a former soldier, downloaded into his own brain. As one does.
Afterward, Franco no longer loved his wife, Liz (Rebecca Herbst) and her three boys, but went after Drew’s former love, Kim (Tamara Braun), mother of his late son, Oscar (Garren Stitt). He even petitioned the courts to let him legally be Drew. Because that’s how the legal system works.
But now, Franco has decided to be Franco again. Do over 6,000 approve or disapprove of the development?
Let Us Never Speak Of It Again
An overwhelming landslide — 98% of General Hospital fans — couldn’t be happier that this story is coming to an end. No matter how many times Monica (Leslie Charleson) insisted that since Franco had Drew’s memories, that made him Drew — strange how the exact opposite conclusion was reached when Drew had Jason’s (Steve Burton) memories… and the real Jason returned — you never bought it.
You either missed Drew or never liked him in the first place. So why would you want an imposter? Plus, Franco lovers weren’t getting their Friz fix. So nobody won. The sooner this story is over, the better.
Something New For General Hospital
Soaps aren’t exactly known for their fresh storylines. And this one was fresh… kind of. Sure, it’s just a variation on the usual amnesia trope, but with a 21st-century, high-tech twist. So why end it now, before the story’s full potential was explored? Besides, it’s not like Franco was… a good person.
Remember the killing? The torturing of Sam (Kelly Monaco)? The guy he locked up in a dog cage? Drew was a better man all around, and a tiny 2% prefer Roger Howarth plays him. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
