Viewers don’t see much of Olivia and Ned on General Hospital. And, lately, when we do, it seems like they are usually fighting. Their latest no-holds-barred battle was kind of about their kids. But it also kind of wasn’t.
Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) has finally found a way to see Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) after he’s been gone, with no contact, for more than a year.
Ned (Wally Kurth), on the other hand, had a huge blowout with his daughter, Brook Lynn (Briana Lane), over her selling her ELQ shares to her manager, who passed them on to Valentin (James Patrick Stuart), who used them to take over their family’s company.
But then Nelle (Chloe Lanier) cut Brook’s throat. And the one thing we know about soaps is that all sins are forgiven once someone lands in the hospital.
Ned forgave Brook Lynn. But Brook Lynn hasn’t forgiven Ned (for yelling and throwing her out of the house). Olivia has been brokering peace between father and daughter, and Ned would like her to keep doing that… instead of going to see Dante.
Olivia refused to give up her chance to see her baby boy so she can continue to coddle Ned and his baby girl. Especially since, we’re not talking about forever, here. Just a few days. Can’t Ned wait just a few days?
No, it would seem that Ned cannot. Ned wants Olivia to stay in town and help him with his daughter. It’s her son who can wait. No, Olivia countered, he cannot. So now they are at a standoff, with hurt feelings on both sides.
But what do you think? Who is right and who is wrong? Or, to put it in more GH terms, who is being reasonably selfish, and who is being unreasonably selfish? Are you Team Olivia or Team Ned? Let us know in the poll below. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
