When he’s not in Port Charles as Dr. Lucas Jones, Ryan Carnes stays busy shooting a variety of projects. Now, one such project, Tuning In, in which Carnes plays a charismatic character named Carl, is available on Amazon Prime.

A New Film For Ryan Carnes

“Here’s a trailer for a really fun show I shot with some friends,” Carnes posted on Instagram, “including the incredibly talented writer and star of the show, @selinaringel and her amazing director hubby #danlevydagerman for their production shingle @2handsproductions.

“Amazing people and a really wild project that I’m sure MANY of you (especially Angelinos) can relate to,” the actor adds. “It’s live on @Amazonprimevideo so please go give it a view and leave a review! #tuningin #humandesign #psychics #lover.”

The film is described as such: “Popularized by the late Edgar Cayce [a clairvoyant], this ancient and mysterious practice appears to enable humans to ‘tune in’ to higher frequencies of consciousness and deliver messages from intelligent sources existing outside space and time.”

It’s rare but not totally uncommon for actors to join a soap, take a break during which time another actor will take over the role, and then, the original actor returns to the part. That’s what happened with Carnes, who first played Lucas from July 2004 to September 2005. After he exited Port Charles, Ben Hogestyn played the part.

Carnes reprised the role of Lucas in 2014 and has recurred in the part ever since. Lucas’ marriage to Brad (Parry Shen) hit a major roadblock after it was discovered that Brad used Nelle’s (Chloe Lanier) baby to take the place of the child Brad and Lucas adopted.

Currently, Brad’s in jail and Nelle and Michael (Chad Duell) are in a bitter custody battle to see which of them will gain custodial guardianship of their little boy. Tuning In is available on Amazon Prime now. General Hospital airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
