The coronavirus has put life on hold for many people, but the General Hospital star didn’t let that stop her and her fiance, composer Kris Bowers, from getting hitched!
The couple had announced their engagement earlier this year and now, they’ve tied the knot as evidenced in recent social media posts.
“’If I love myself, I love you. If I love you, I love myself.’ 6.6.20,” posted Henry on social media. The June 6th, 2020 date indicates that she’s been wed almost three weeks now!
Referring to social-distancing concerns, Henry quipped in a post that “No humans were harmed in the making of this wedding 🙏🏾. I’d also like to take a second to thank @megsmithphotography and @charlotte_and_daughters. You ladies helped us pull this day together in the 9th hour. Thank you for doing all that you did with love.
“I love y’all,” she added in another post with a photo in which she with her bridesmaids. “Thank you for holding space for us in your lives and on this day.” In fact, they even had masks made with their initials on them.
Bowers, the composer on the Golden Globe-winning film, Green Book, is also the composer for the Hulu series Mrs. America, and King Richard, Space Jam: A New Legacy, For the People, Black Monday, and Star Trek: Short Treks.
GH made its debut in 1963 and is the second longest-running daytime soap opera in American history. The longest-running sudser is Guiding Light. While it’s not the longest-running sudser, General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.
The daytime drama outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households! From Luke (Tony Geary) and Laura’s (Genie Francis) gripping romance and wedding, to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH knows how to please their viewers.
More than five decades of gripping drama has kept the daytime sudser on the air as other soap operas were axed. It is one of only four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives, The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). GH airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for air times.
