Poor Alexis Davis, played by Daytime Emmy winner Nancy Lee Grahn, truly has the absolute worst luck with men on General Hospital.
Her brief affair with Finn (Michael Easton) ended with her overhearing how much he still loved Anna (Finola Hughes) at the Nurses Ball. Her marriage to Julian (William deVry) ended with a dagger to her neck, as her affinity for mobsters has been a running theme in her life.
All of her men issues prompted Alexis to seek out therapy, but before her first appointment, she met her therapist and didn’t even know it when Dr. Neil Byrne (Joe Flanigan) hit on her without knowing he’d see her in his office soon.
After much ‘Will they or won’t they?’ the pair did in a New York hotel after enjoying a night at the opera, but their affair was a no-no due to doctor-patient rules. Alexis lost her law license, Neil lost his license, and yesterday they decided to throw caution to the wind and be together. Sadly, the morning after just didn’t work out as Alexis brought her new lover some coffee and found him cold and dead in her bed.
With the story not spoiled and being a shock for fans, it set the Twitter world on fire because people couldn’t believe what they saw. Fortunately, the situation brought out Nancy Lee Grahn’s deadpan sense of humor, as she first tweeted this:
“My fiancé after hearing about today’s #GH has requested to sleep in the guest bedroom from now on,” Grahn wrote.
She later went through Alexis’s litany of men troubles and the horrible things she has both wittingly and unwittingly done to the loves in her life.
“In 24 years on #GH, I’ve shoved 1 off a parapet. (Splat.) Accidentally had 1 run into my knife and hurl himself off the 21st floor (ouch), ran over more than 1 (I’m a very bad driver), but I’ve never $*#&ed a man to death. Let’s see if I can add that to my resume after Tues. ep.”
Is there more to Neil’s apparent death than just a really good night with Alexis? Is something sinister going on? All we know at Soap Hub is that we loved Neil and Alexis together and wanted more for them. But, in the end, this is a soap opera, and this could be a VERY soapy story. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
