Less than one month ago, General Hospital star Joe Flanigan, who plays Dr. Neil Byrne, revealed to his fans that their family had suffered a horrible loss of their gorgeous French Bulldog Bento. Now the actor and his family have welcomed into their hearts a new pup who will steal your heart.
Joe Flanigan – New Family Member
The handsome actor shared the great news over the weekend about the little guy saying, “Say hello to Newman Flanigan. Because this little guy’s got Newmans. Look at those eyes. #englishbulldog #puppies”
He’s not kidding — the little English Bulldog is a stunner — and those eyes will definitely melt even the saddest heart. He has a tall order though, helping to heal the Flanigan family after their loss of their beloved Frenchie, Bento.
Flanigan shared the Hermione Gingold quote at that time of his passing, “To call him a dog hardly seems to do him justice, though inasmuch as he had four legs, a tail, and barked, I admit he was, to all outward appearances. But to those who knew him well, he was a perfect gentleman.”
Newman’s arrival coincides with Flanigan’s birthday, which he celebrated on Sunday. Could Newman have been an early birthday gift for the actor? Either way, he probably made the day extra special with plenty of tail wags.
Meanwhile, his General Hospital character has been missing in action for a little while. He is expected to return to see Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) shortly and in doing so is expected to reveal a little more about his past — which the audience really wants to know. Then again, Alexis really wants to know too!
These two are adorable and it would be lovely to see the writers concentrate on fleshing out their relationship. Will that happen? Stay tuned. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
