General Hospital fans were able to relive Eden McCoy’s first days as Josslyn Jacks recently, during the soap opera’s ‘classic season’ that was prompted by the coronavirus pandemic.
Memories For Eden McCoy
The actress first appeared on the show in 2015, when Josslyn returned from Australia slightly older to attend her mother Carly’s (Laura Wright) fifth wedding to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
Not long ago, the actress stumbled across an old notebook in her dressing room; a keepsake that brought back memories of her first tackling the role of Joss. She found her own notes, which she had used to familiarize herself with her new character.
“Found an old notebook in my room at GH today,” McCoy tweeted. “Opened it and on the 1st page I read…notes I took in the beginning. Love u all and the history of this show so much.” And just what did those notes say?
“-Bobby Spencer is my gma
-Luke Spencer is my great-uncle
-Carly – one of the heroines of the show so it’s important to take that into account to my character, Josslyn”
Clearly, McCoy was a very focused actress, determined to give it her all – even at age 11 – and she made sure to know exactly who she was playing and how she related to the Port Charles canvas.
Since then, we have watched Eden McCoy grow up before our eyes as Josslyn emerged from her pre-teen years and became a young heroine herself, going through the heartbreak of losing her first love to cancer last year.
The last time we saw the character before the pandemic hiatus, Josslyn had just learned that Cam (Will Lipton) liked her in a more romantic way than just as friends. Of course, that might have been old news, as Dev (Ashton Arbab) had informed her of this, not knowing Cam was starting to realize he had feelings for Trina (Sydney Mikayla). How will this little teenage triangle play out? Time will tell. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
