General Hospital cast members recently returned to the ABC studios to resume taping, following a shutdown due to the coronavirus and it looks like Dominic Zamprogna will be joining them.
Dominic Zamprogna Makes His Return
Daytime Confidential is reporting Zamprogna, who first joined GH as undercover detective Dante Falconeri in 2009, is back at the show. The actor left GH in 2018 and returned for guest spots the following year.
He gave some interviews earlier this year indicating he was ready to return to Port Charles. The show has not made any official confirmation on his return.
When Dante does return to the scene, he’s going to find things aren’t the same since he last showed his face in Port Charles. Lulu (Emme Rylan), Dante’s ex, has been slowly but surely moving forward with her life, embarking on a romance with Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson). However, as soaps are all about triangles, Dante’s return could create some powerful conflict in Lulu and Dustin’s dynamic.
Another popular geometric shape in daytime is the quadrangle. Dante has a past with Brook Lynn Ashton (Amanda Setton), as they grew up together in Brooklyn. There’s always a place in Port Charles for a lawman so whether Dante stays with the WSB or returns to the PCPD, he’ll have plenty to do.
Zamprogna has earned three Daytime Emmy nominations in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Dante in 2014, 2016, and 2019.
During his time away from the ABC soap, Zamprogna appeared in four episodes of the series Tin Star and completed a role in the short film To the Moon and Back, in which he plays a man who finds solace in the presence of his wife and daughter shortly before he is set to eulogize his late mother. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check local listings for air times.
