General Hospital fans are thrilled to finally be getting new episodes of their favorite soap after the coronavirus pandemic shut production down for four months. Recently, a news crew visited the set to see how the cast and crew were adjusting to their new protocols… and they tried to get some scoop on the latest Port Charles happenings.
The local Los Angeles ABC affiliate visited set to speak with several GH’ers, including executive producer Frank Valentini, and stars like Josh Swickard (Chase), Laura Wright (Carly), and Kirsten Storms (Maxie).
All spoke about how thrilled they are to be back with their work family, with Wright mentioning that originally they expected to be gone for four weeks and it stretched out to four months. And as happy as she is to be back, she knows that fans have been dying for new episodes.
But in this behind-the-scenes report, you can see the actors wearing their masks during rehearsals — as is Valentini as he gives notes to the actors on set. Everyone wears the protective equipment up until they begin shooting the actual scenes — and that’s just one of the many precautions the show is taking.
As for spoilers, of course, they don’t give anything away but the actors do say they are very excited about what’s coming up on the show. They also reveal some of the special skills they honed or developed during their four months off. Storms was especially grateful for the extra time she got to spend with her daughter.
You can watch the entire tweeted behind-the-scenes video report below to see what else everyone had to say. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
