If General Hospital’s Lulu Wants Charlotte — Get A Grip Already!

Do you remember when Lulu used to be spunky, with her shrewd Spencer brain working overtime to get her what she wanted on General Hospital? Yeah, we don’t either.

This current version of Lulu (Emme Rylan) is so obsessed with the daughter she never knew about till Christmas that all reason has flown out the window. Despite being told by various lawyers, her husband, and her mother that she needs to think before she cooks up another hair-brained scheme, she still goes off half-cocked. This ended up playing a part in her losing her daughter in a custody battle that ended last week.

Despite the fact that said daughter is scared of her after she blurted out in a closet that she was her birth mother, the child’s father, Valentin (James Patrick Stuart), made the magnanimous gesture that she could see Charlotte for an hour today.

This was a big deal since he didn’t have to do anything as the courts hadn’t yet processed her visitation rights. Did Lulu say thank you? Of course not. Thank goodness her mother accepted the date on her behalf.

Yes, there are a ton of reasons why Valentin shouldn’t have sole custody as we’ve already discussed. But the fact is he does and the sooner Lulu comes to grips with that reality, the easier it will be on everyone. That grip doesn’t seem to be happening anytime soon. Worse, it looks like her particular brand of crazy may be spreading to her mother.

Spoilers reveal that Laura (Genie Francis) starts to obsess so much about the injustice visited upon her daughter that she puts her own relationship with Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) in jeopardy.

No, no, no! Laura, we need you to rein in your daughter — not join her on Fantasy Island. While the Spencers have been known to work outside the law on many occasions, a custody situation isn’t the place to do it, especially when the child not only barely knows Lulu — but is scared and has no interest in getting to know her. Valentin opened the door to getting to know her and easing that burden. Lulu needs to wise up and walk through that door calmly — for the sake of the daughter she professes to love.
