She has been on and off General Hospital since 1996 playing Jax’s mother, Lady Jane, but now Soap Hub has learned actress Barbara Tarbuck passed away.
She played an Australian, but Tarbuck hails from Detroit, Michigan. The actress trained on Fulbright Grant to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. She acted in shows in New York and regionally around the country. She lost her husband of 25 years, James Denis Connolly, in 2005 and they had one child.
In addition to her General Hospital role, Tarbuck appeared on Santa Barbara as Sister Allegra in 1990, and had small roles on primetime soaps Knots Landing, Dallas, and Falcon Crest. She also guested on countless shows since her first role in 1978 in David Cassidy – Man Undercover.
But soap fans will always remember and adore the actress as the feisty and doting mother to Jax (Ingo Rademacher) and Jerry Jacks. The show recently wrote out Rademacher by saying Lady Jane was ill and he had to return to Australia to be with her. It is unknown at this time whether or not the show will have the character pass away as well.
Soap Hub sends thoughts and prayers to the Tarbuck’s friends and family.
