Give Michael Corinthos A Break Already!

It seems that General Hospital’s Michael Corinthos can’t catch a break. He has been through the wringer the past few years, between finding out that Sonny, the man who raised him, murdered his biological father, A.J., and feeling betrayed by people he loved and trusted.

Sabrina was wonderful for Michael–she even got him to mend fences with Sonny and return little Avery to him.

But a tryst with Carlos, her mob-connected former fiancé, left Sabrina pregnant, and Michael was devastated to learn the child she was carrying was not his.

So, after several months of Michael (Chad Duell) and Sabrina struggling emotionally, along with Sabrina literally disappearing (while Teresa Castillo was on maternity leave after giving birth to her second child), and several other complications ensuing, they were able to find their way back to each other. Sabrina’s infant son was loved by both Michael and Tracy (Jane Elliott).

When Carlos’s estranged twin brother Joe arrived, it seemed to pave the way for a possible love triangle, but instead, Paul Hornsby (Richard Burgi) murdered poor Sabrina. And to add insult to injury, Joe wanted custody of his nephew.

Michael chose to relent, and Joe took little Teddy back to Puerto Rico. (Kind of makes us wonder why this role had even been created.) Now, sweet, caring Michael is being dragged into whatever is going on with Nelle (Chloe Lanier).

She had agreed to be his date for the Toys for Tots gala, only to tell Michael she had to leave because she was underdressed. Michael went a got himself a funky outfit so that he would be even more underdressed.

Things were good, but then she took off and when Michael texted her she lied about being sick. It was heartbreaking when Michael showed up at her door with chicken soup and ginger ale, and then gently confronted her by saying that he understands if she wants to take things slow.

Of course, he does not know that Nelle drugged Sonny and made him think she slept with him. And she has vowed to make Carly pay for something. Whatever is going on with Nell, it will be bad for Michael’s parents, which means Michael will suffer, too. Can’t this guy EVER catch a break?
