Magic Milo may be at home celebrating his Mr. Lumina win with gal pal Epiphany on General Hospital but actor Drew Cheetwood has a reason to celebrate all his own.
That’s because he was born on July 14, 1983, in Bowling Green Ohio, meaning that he is turning 36 years old today! Although Cheetwood is mostly known to GH fans as Milo Giambetti, the actor first appeared on the soap as Officer Sullivan in a small “under five lines” role.
Not only did 19-year-old Cheetwood follow his brother out to sunny Los Angeles but he also followed in his career footsteps. While he parlayed his love for fitness into a daytime job, Cheetwood spent his nights in acting class honing his skills.
Cheetwood’s early TVography include short films such as Deliriously Jen and Someone Else, a guest appearance on Two and a Half Men as “Male Stripper,” and several episodes of the NBC soap opera Passions. Cheetwood even lent his voice to the well-received video game L.A. Noire.
Cheetwood’s journey to his most famous soap role is certainly an interesting one. The actor was “discovered” by a GH writer’s assistant during one of his frequent trips to the soap’s studios. But his appearances at the studio weren’t for auditions.
Instead, Cheetwood was the personal trainer for many of the shows actors and crew members. Impressed with the budding actor’s personality, Robert Guza Jr. (one of Cheetwood’s clients) created the role of Max’s younger brother, Milo. And who played Max? None other than Cheetwood’s real-life older sibling Derk!
Soap Hub would like to wish Cheetwood a very happy birthday, and you can too by clicking the twitter link below. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
